Effective date: 4 November 2026
muse-health-reader is a personal, single-user application. The operator of the application and its only user are the same individual. This policy describes how the application handles that individual's own data.
With the user's consent via Google OAuth 2.0, the application accesses nutrition log data from the Google Health API, limited to the read-only scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/googlehealth.nutrition.readonly. This includes food names, meal types, timestamps, energy (kcal) and nutrient values (such as protein, fat and carbohydrates), and hydration amounts. The application does not request any other Google API scopes.
The data is used solely for the operator's personal nutrition tracking: keeping a private meal record and planning the operator's own meals. It is not used for advertising, profiling, research on other people, or any commercial purpose.
Retrieved data and OAuth tokens are stored only on the operator's own computer, in files protected by restrictive operating-system permissions. No data is uploaded to any third-party server, cloud database, or analytics service operated by anyone else.
Data accessed through the Google Health API is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties, and is never transferred to advertising platforms or data brokers.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The user can revoke the application's access at any time via the Google Account permissions page (myaccount.google.com/permissions). Locally stored data and tokens can be deleted by the operator at any time by removing the local files; deletion is immediate and complete because no copies exist elsewhere.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new effective date.
